What is the Blue Whale? Why Government of India is Banned Blue Whale Games?

In the era of gaming technologies, most of the online games are getting popular and involving many of the people. The Blue Whale challenge is said to be a “suicide game” in which the player is given certain tasks to complete within 50 days while sharing pictures of each task that has been completed and the final task leads to suicide. India, the government has taken serious note of a “suicide” game ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ which has led to many youngsters killing themselves. Usually, the game has increased attention after a series of teen suicides were said to be linked to the game. The game is not downloadable, app or software. It came through social media as the challenge that is spread through secretive groups. One of the group called as ‘death group’ over the social media comes up with the first suicide case. Any the number of cases like these has been increasing day by day.

Blue Whale

Blue whale game is dangerous online challenge and led to suicide all over India. The Game has comes into notice when 14 year old boy jumped from the roof was linked to the game. While many of these cases increased in India and people are getting involved in the suicidal game. The ministry said, “Instances of children committing suicide while Blue Whale Challenge have been reported in India .You are hereby requested to ensure that any such link of this deadly game in its own name or similar game is immediately removed from your platform.”

In many of the other countries it has been spread and numerous suicidal cases has come across the world.  This game has started in Russia four years ago on a social networking site and it has already claimed over 130 lives in Russian. Deaths of teenagers have also been reported from other countries including China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Argentina, Bulgaria, Chile and Italy. This game encourage people to take challenges and  finish the dare The game ended in 50 days, where a player has to successfully complete 50 challenges. The task keeps getting tougher with each passing day. These tasks are given by the “curator”, who also asks for photos of the teenagers as proof for approval. The last of the 50 challenges as we know is suicide. Schools as well as police officials in Europe and America have begun issuing advisories to parents urging them to be watchful and to keep an eye out on what their children are sharing on their social media account.

Some of the Companies said “they do not allow promotion of such suicidal games and remove when these are reported. We care about the safety of our community and want to provide assistance for people in distress. As defined in our Community Standards, we don’t allow the promotion of self-injury or suicide and will remove it when reported to us”. Quick actions are taken for the safety of people lives.

While issuing notice to the Indian units of the internet beasts. Government has taken strict and immediate actions are taken to stop many people from getting into the trap and to ban the online game called the ‘Blue Whale Challenge. Also governments restrict the internet firms from uploading any material affecting to the challenge game, citing cases of suicide by children in India and abroad. To ensure the safety of people on social media and hearing the death cases of many of the children worldwide, government has put banned on the Blue Whale Game. Government taking actions against it and ask social media platform to remove the game and get rid of the links which are spreading worldwide.
